His fishing programme On The Bank airs on BT Sport. The show is presented by Andy and Rob Hughes and features the very best in match fishing, carp fishing, game/fly fishing and sea fishing. He's fly fished for England at the Rivers Home International. Well done Eugene last week he caught spring fish off the River TYNE and this week a fish of a lifetime off the River FINDHORN. Findhorn “Springers” tend to be big and agressive taking fish with our best salmon in recent years weighing around 34 lbs’ says Ian Neale. James and Eugene fished Altyre Estate. Altyre Estate is situated on the Lower Findhorn River and is about two miles below the Poolie Falls at Sluie on Darnaway and some five miles above the tidal sea pool on the Forres Angling Association water. The Altyre Estate fishing is divided into two beats, fishing off the right hand bank. Altyre offers just over two and a half miles of salmon and sea trout fishing for up to four rods. There are some fourteen named pools winding through magnificent red sandstone outcrops. The Upper Beat is fished from Soldiers' Hole Pool down to the Scur Pool. The Lower Beat is fished from the Roan Pool down to the Lime Kilns Pool. The river here is easy to fish and therefore, perfect for both the beginner and the more experienced casters. The Altyre fishing also offers a good mix of high and low water pools on both beats. There is good vehicular access to most of the pools, which makes it suitable to anglers of more limited mobility. This beat has fished consistently well over the Spring months from March through to June. James Stokoe said “Biggest salmon I’ve ever seen or netted.” “I’ve can happily say that I’ve just experienced the greatest Angling moment and achievement that I will probably have in my lifetime”. “It was an absolute honour to be part of this catch of a lifetime, and it couldn’t of happened to a more deserving person. At 5 pm Eugene and myself landed this Incredible Findhorn spring salmon, something neither of us thought we would ever see in our lifetime, and I had the pleasure of netting this fish”. #fishing #flyfishing #findhorn #fishpal #fishfindhorn #flyfishingscotland #gonefishing
