TWEED AUCTION – Experience some of Tweed’s best fishing this autumn…….

The 2015 Tweed Auction is now live, offering anglers the opportunity to acquire some of the UK’s most sought-after autumn Salmon fishing. The Auction is run in aid of the Tweed Foundation, which protects and enhances fish stocks in the Tweed system.  38 lots covering 29 beats are on offer including prime fishings between late August and November on many of the Tweed’s most illustrious beats. Guide prices range from £950 down to £120.

There is also a top-of-the-range Sage ‘Method’  15′ Salmon rod on offer, the proceeds from which will benefit TweedStart – the Foundation’s initiative teaching children about river conservation and to fly fish.

Alternatively call the Tweed Foundation office Tel: (01896) 848271 for a copy of the catalogue, which includes recent average catches for the featured beats. The deadline for both email and postal bids is 5 pm on Thursday 25th June 2015 with the Auction taking place the following day.

Nick Yonge, The Tweed Foundation’s Director, said: “Our Annual Auction is unique amongst such events, featuring many of the river’s leading and lesser-known beats during the most productive time of the season – the prolific autumn runs. Many of these beats are rarely available otherwise during this period. The Auction’s proceeds provide vital support for the conservation work of the Foundation which helps to ensure the future of the Tweed’s fish populations. We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of Tweed proprietors as well as all those bidders who ensure our Auction’s continuing success”.
