For the tenth year running, a trophy has been put up for the first salmon of the season to be caught from the Kelso Angling Association (KAA) water on the Teviot.
The fish was caught on the morning of Friday 3rd March, 2017, by Ronnie Park from Houndridge. Caught from the Kaybraes with a black and green flying C the fish was a lovely 10lb hen and was landed by ex-Lower Floors head boatman Jim Smail. Ronnie’s fish was caught, witnessed and safely released back into the water, ably assisted by Jim.
Ronnie was presented with a certificate and the Tweedside Tackle Crystal Decanter, later in the day, by Caroline Pilcher from Tweedside Tackle. The trophy remains on show in the shop for all to see.
Tight lines to all for the rest of the season.
