The Tweed Foundation/TweedStart’s Kenny Galt and TweedStart’s Eoin Fairgrieve met with FishPal CEO Mark Cockburn at the Sunlaws fishing beat last week to receive a cheque for £1,060.50. The money had been collected from donations made by anglers during 2018 whilst purchasing fishing on the Tweed through the FishPal website.
TweedStart is extremely grateful to all the anglers who made this additional payment to help fund the initiative when booking their fishing. Thanks also go to Mark and FishPal for setting up this scheme and making the presentation.
The funds will be put towards angling development in the form of TweedStart days. Originally set up by local casting instructor, Eoin Fairgrieve, and now run by The Tweed Foundation, TweedStart works to introduce children within the Scottish Borders and North Northumberland to fly fishing, angling’s importance to the Borders community and the conservation of the river environment – read more.
